This week’s resources: free screen recording tool, creating guidebooks, avoiding assessment pitfalls, inclusive language in tech, diversity and inclusion calendar, epic learning newsletter, and digital accessibility bootcamp!
Hey gang! We-learn Wednesdays are back after a brief break! I hope you’re all ready for some epic resources this week!
If you have any resources or events you feel would be helpful to the community, be sure to contact me with the details so I can share with everyone!
Note: Clicking on the titles below will take you directly to the resources being offered. I’ve also included the links in the description, as well as other helpful links.
Have you been looking for a free screen recording tool? Panopto Express to the rescue! Not only is it free but there is nothing to download or install, no user account or credit card required, and most importantly: no limitations, watermarks, or recording restrictions!

ATD Tulsa is hosting a really cool webinar this month with Pat Michaels of Great Learning Circle. “A Practical Approach to Creating Guidebooks for V/ILT” will equip Session attendees to be able to:
✅ Describe the dual roles that guidebooks play for the facilitator and participant.
✅ Replicate the structure to create guidebooks that ensure consistency across multiple trainers, locations, and sessions.
✅ Organize their course for effective VILT programs regardless of the virtual delivery platform (Zoom, Teams, WebEx, etc.).
Bonus points: the program has been pre-approved by the ATD Certification Institute for 1 credit to be used towards initial eligibility and recertification of the Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) and Associate Professional in Talent Development (APTD) credentials!

One of my most favorite humans in this world, Cara North, has teamed up with LearnUpon to teach us how to avoid assessment pitfalls. Cara will break down how to:
👉 Utilize multiple choice writing “rules”.
👉 Understand grammatical cues and distractor length.
👉 Recognize common test-item pitfalls.

You all know my love for Pantheon and how thankful I am to work for such an awesome company. When I came across this gem in our docs, I loved them even more! A lot of folks and organizations don’t talk enough about using inclusive language beyond diversity. We need more talk about avoiding gendered language, terminology that may be triggering and traumatic for folks, and avoiding ableist language.
Be sure to check out Inclusive Language at Pantheon and in the Pantheon Community. These practices need to be incorporated everywhere, not just in the Pantheon universe. Examples and alternatives are provided, as well!
Speaking of Pantheon awesomeness… cue the magnificent Heidi Kirby and her new newsletter (that’s fun to say): The Learning Culture Club! Not only is she an amazing boss, tremendously helpful in the L&D community, but she is also a kickass newsletter creator!
You absolutely MUST hop on over to her site and sign up! You’ll thank me for it, I promise!

Have you ever wished you could know about the diverse holidays and various days, weeks, or months celebrating diversity? PowerToFly has you covered! They’ve put together a massive calendar for the year with so many different religious, cultural, and awareness holidays and celebrations. You can even sync the Diversity and Inclusion Calendar 2022 to your calendar!
Texthelp is my new hero! They are offering a free, virtual digital accessibility bootcamp. In it, you’ll learn and understand how to make your website and digital content more accessible for everyone.
Thank You!
